Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from that period of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
The player's defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The pair swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.
Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after a lengthy match.
